1. Job Descriptions

2. Compensation Strategy

3. Hiring Manager Training

4. Company Policies

Having a sound compensation strategy is a great way to avoid this kind of press that Disney is getting.

We are fortunate that each day we get to talk to business owners and business leaders. All the time, whether they know it or not, they are talking, hinting and living their HR philosophy. Our job is to understand where they stand and how best to advise and execute their strategy. So here are the 3 philosophies we see every day.

1. "Keep Me In Compliance and Out of Jail HR" -This company wants only what is mandatory and necessary.

2. "Keeping Up With The Jones' HR"- If you don't do these things you will not b...

Think about these three things, especially if your company is not growing as fast as you want it too:

1. Human Resources impacts every part of your P&L
2. Small HR improvements can increase profits
3. Small HR mistakes can devastate the bottom line

Choose your HR Philosophy to support your goals:

a. Keep ahead of the competition
b. Keeping up with the competition
c. Keep me in compliance and out of legal trouble

These three words can save and improve some situations and in others they can be the cause of tragedy. Unfortunately, when it comes to HR we are seeing these 3 words cause great damage to businesses.

When a business does not understand all of its HR Risks, there is a possibility of devastating problems which can destroy the bottom-line of many businesses.

Skepticism- "Why do we need to understand the Risk? We have never had a problem before."

Reaction- "I doubt that HR problem would happen here."
